How to deal with the change in pitch of auger flights produced by continuous cold rolling mill machine?
The auger flight cold rolling mill machine adopts the forming method of roller extrusion, which could process various specifications of continuous auger flights. There are three main dimensions of the auger flight, outer diameter, inner diameter and pitch. As long as these three dimensions can be guaranteed, the auger flights could be used normally.
The outer diameter and inner diameter sizes of the auger flight are determined by the size of the raw materials—steel strips. The width of steel strips could be calculated according to the outer diameter and inner diameter of the finished auger flight. When the width remains unchanged and the inner diameter size of the finished augers is accurate, the outer diameter size is also relatively accurate. Now the most important thing is the size of the pitch. There are many ways to adjust the pitch of the auger flight during processing. It can be adjusted through the adjustment bolts at both ends, the adjustment bolts on the left and right sides, and the top tightening device at the outlet. The pitch adjustment methods of different auger flights are also different.
When processing continuous auger flights, it always appears the pitch changes situation. The pitch fluctuates and affects the quality of the auger flight. When the pitch difference is large, it is called scrap. Therefore, when the pitch changes, it is necessary to find out the problem in time and adjust it in time to ensure the stability of the pitch. There are generally two situations in which the pitch changes. One is that the temperature of the rollers rises too quickly shortly after the machine is started, resulting in uneven force on the steel strip, and the pitch suddenly increases or decreases. The second is that when the equipment is operating normally, the pitch gradually increases. This is caused by the loosening of the top bolts on the left and right sides, and this gradually increases in the gap between the rollers. To solve these two problems, corresponding treatments should be carried out for different phenomena to keep the pitch unchanged in normal production.
After the auger flight cold rolling mill machine is started at the beginning, the temperature of the rollers rises too quickly, we could open the cooling water heavily, the rollers could be suspended for a few minutes, and the pitch change within one meter can be measured. After a few minutes, restart it and observe the change in pitch. When the pitch gradually increases, it means that the top bolts on both sides are loose. Tighten them with a wrench and observe whether the pitch changes.
